         * 여기서 '그렇게'라는 의미의 'so'는 'dispatch the naval unit'를 가리키는 말입니다.  "What made them dispatch the naval unit?"라는 말을 줄여서 "What made them do so?"라고 한 것입니다.  같은 내용을 반복해서 말하는 대신 '그렇게'라는 의미를 가진 'so'를 사용하면 말이 간단해집니다.
