■ Dialogue

Linda and Cheryl went shopping on a warm Saturday afternoon. They travelled to a nearby shopping mall to browse through the shops.

Cheryl: Wow! Look at these shoes! Aren’t they cute?
Linda: Well, not really, and they look very uncomfortable.
Cheryl: But I love it! It’s also 50% off!
Linda: So are you getting it? Think carefully before you buy it.

■ The Meaning of the Expression

＂It serves you right＂친구가 어떤 것을 하지 말라고 말렸음에도 불구하고 했다가 낭패를 봤을 경우 “그것 참 쌤통이다” 라고 말할 때 쓸 수 있는 표현입니다.
