■Dialogue

On a Saturday night, Peter and Wendy went to see a much anticipated movie. After watching it, they discussed the movie.

Peter: So, how was the movie?
Wendy: Gosh! It was so cheesy! I? very disappointed!
Peter: Me, too. Maybe we expected too much.
Wendy: You know what? I actually fell asleep in the middle.
Peter: Yeah, I almost fell asleep, too.
Wendy: It? so cheesy that I want a refund!

어느 토요일 밤, 피터와 웬디는 굉장히 기대했던 영화를 보러 갔다. 영화를 보고 난 후 그들은 영화에 대해 이야기하고 있다.

Wendy: 연기는 괜찮았지만, 줄거리가 너무 지루하고 진부했어.
Peter: 맞아. 그리고 난 감독이 이야기를 감동적으로 만들려고 주인공 엄마가 죽게 만든 부분이 싫더라.
Wendy: 그래, 그리고 끝부분은 또 어떻고? 으아! 왜 마지막에 모두가 죽어야 해?
Peter: 아마 감독이 정말 눈물 질질 짜는 영화를 만들고 싶었던 모양인데, 불행히도 그렇지가 않았어.
Wendy: 있잖아, 슬프기보다 오히려 우스웠어. 난 모두가 죽었을 때 웃고 싶었다니까.
Peter: 야, 우리 뭐 좀 먹으러 가자. 날 다시 기분 좋아지게 만들어줄 뭔가가 필요해.
Wendy: 좋아. 그 유명한 아이스크림 집에 가지 않을래?

"It's so cheesy!"는 뭔가가 아주 형편없거나 수준이 낮다고 말할 때 쓸 수 있는 표현입니다. "crappy"나 "shabby"도 비슷한 의미로 사용할 수 있습니다.
